Climate

Summer (December to February): Peru’s summer season is the rainy season in the Andes. Expect occasional showers in the highlands, with temperatures ranging from 15-25°C (59-77°F). While it rains, the weather is still mild, and the landscapes are lush and green.
Winter (June to August): Winter in Peru is the dry season, which is ideal for trekking the Inca Trail and visiting Machu Picchu. Temperatures range from 10-20°C (50-68°F) during the day but can drop significantly at night, especially in the mountains.
Spring/Fall (March to May & September to November): These seasons are perfect for visiting Peru, as they offer pleasant temperatures and clear skies without the extremes of winter or summer.

Public Transport

City Transport: In Lima and Cusco, public transportation such as buses and taxis are readily available. The use of official taxis or ride-sharing services like Uber is recommended.
Inca Trail: For the Inca Trail trek, transportation will be arranged as part of the tour. You’ll travel by private coach to the trailhead and use local trains for the journey to Aguas Calientes.
Buses and Trains: Buses and trains are commonly used for travel between major destinations like Cusco, Sacred Valley, and Machu Picchu. Train travel to Machu Picchu is a scenic and comfortable experience.

Internet

Remote Areas: In more rural or mountainous areas, internet access may be limited, but many accommodations provide Wi-Fi.
Mobile Coverage: Mobile networks are reliable in urban and popular tourist areas. However, signal strength can be weak in remote or high-altitude regions.

Money

Currency: The official currency of Peru is the Nuevo Sol (PEN), although US dollars are widely accepted in most major cities and tourist areas.
ATMs: ATMs are available in Lima, Cusco, and other large towns. In remote areas, it may be difficult to find ATMs, so it’s advisable to withdraw cash in the cities before heading into more isolated regions.
