USEFUL INFORMATION

Climate

Winter (December to February): Winter in Lapland is cold, with temperatures often ranging from -10°C to -30°C (14°F to -22°F). However, the air is dry, and the sun barely rises during the polar night, creating a stunning atmosphere for the Northern Lights. Warm layers, thermal wear, and a high-quality winter coat are essential.
Spring (March to May): While still chilly, temperatures begin to warm up slightly, and the days get longer. Snow is still abundant, and the Northern Lights are still visible well into March.
Autumn (September to November): The weather can be quite unpredictable, with early snowfalls and the aurora season beginning as the nights lengthen. If you’re lucky, you may catch the Northern Lights beginning in September.
Summer (June to August): Though beautiful, this tour is designed for winter and is not ideal for summer visits, as the Northern Lights are not visible due to the midnight sun.

Public Transport

Local Transport: Public transport is available in larger towns such as Rovaniemi and Kemi, but our tour provides private transportation via snowmobiles, husky sleds, and private minivans to ensure comfort and convenience throughout the trip.
Airport Transfers: We’ll arrange all transfers to and from the airport in Rovaniemi (or your arrival city) to ensure a smooth start and end to your trip.

Internet

IUrban Areas: Wi-Fi is available in Rovaniemi and major towns in Lapland. Most accommodations provide internet access.
Remote Areas: Internet connection may be limited in remote cabins and glass igloos, so prepare for the opportunity to disconnect and truly experience the tranquility of nature.

Money

Currency: Finland uses the Euro (EUR). Credit cards are widely accepted, but it's always a good idea to have some cash for small purchases, especially in more remote locations.
Tipping: Tipping is not expected in Finland but is appreciated for excellent service. A small tip or rounding up your bill is customary if you're pleased with the service.
