USEFUL INFORMATION

Climate

Summer (June to August): The summer months are the best time for exploring Iceland, as temperatures range from 10-15°C (50-59°F) and the days are long (up to 24 hours of daylight). This is the perfect time for outdoor activities, including glacier hikes and volcano treks.
Autumn (September to October): The fall months are cooler (5-10°C / 41-50°F) and offer stunning colors as the landscape transforms. The weather can be unpredictable, so be prepared for rain and wind.
Winter (November to February): Winter brings colder temperatures (0-5°C / 32-41°F) and shorter days. However, it’s a great time to experience the Northern Lights, and fewer tourists mean more peaceful exploration.
Spring (March to May): Spring is still chilly but starts to see longer days and thawing landscapes. The weather is transitional, ranging from 0-10°C (32-50°F).

Public Transport

Local Transport: Iceland has limited public transportation outside of Reykjavik, but this tour includes private transport for all activities.
Reykjavik: In the capital city, public buses and taxis are available. However, most of the tour will focus on private transportation for convenience and comfort.
National Park Buses: Some national parks may have shuttle services to key spots, but we’ll be traveling in a private coach throughout the tour.

Internet

Urban Areas: Wi-Fi is widely available in Reykjavik and most larger towns. Most hotels and cafes offer free Wi-Fi.
Remote Areas: Internet may be limited in remote areas, but most accommodations in the countryside offer internet access. Prepare to disconnect during parts of the tour for a more immersive experience.
Mobile Coverage: Mobile service is generally available in Reykjavik and along the major roads. Coverage may be spotty in remote regions, such as on glacier hikes or in more isolated national parks.

Money

Currency: Iceland uses the Icelandic Krona (ISK). ATMs are available in Reykjavik and most towns. Credit cards are widely accepted in most tourist areas, but it’s a good idea to carry cash for smaller purchases in remote areas.
Tipping: Tipping is not mandatory in Iceland but is appreciated for good service. A small tip or rounding up your bill is appreciated in restaurants.
